The Turkish company Pugedon has recently introduced a vending machine that’s an innovative way to help both the environment and our furry friends. It releases food for the city’s stray dogs and cats every time a plastic bottle is deposited, and it allows people to empty their water bottles for the animals as well.

This wonderful service operates at no charge to the city because the recycled plastic pays for the cost of food. So, with a little financial investment, the simple machines do a lot of good. They provide a steady source of sustenance to the animals, many of which rely on caring residents to regularly feed them. It also encourages people to make a habit of recycling and help conserve our environment for future generations.

    Put these everywhere

Free Scarves In Ottawa A Helping Hand In Freezing Temperatures

The so-called polar vortex has Canada in its grip once again, with temperatures plummeting down to -35°C across Ontario on Tuesday, reports the National Post, with Ottawa experiencing an average of -23°C. Going outside without a scarf is not an option, which is why one kindhearted soul is trying to make sure every citizen is properly dressed.

A picture posted on Reddit on Monday evening showed a statue of army hero Andrew Mynarski, tied with a purple scarf and a tag that read, “I am not lost! If you’re stuck out in the cold, take this scarf to keep warm!”

According to the Ottawa Citizen, scarves were placed on each of the statues in The Valiants Memorial on Wellington Street.

Remember when someone did this last year and we were all inspired to do it? Well it’s the first day of Autumn and the weather is starting to change so get your knitting and crochet needles out and start making scarves and hats to hang on trees and benches and statues and everything else! Don’t forget to make a tag that says it’s free! And if you go to a Goodwill or Value Village (or similar) you can find large bags of random yarn for very cheap! Let’s go!

The boy who played Danny in “The Shining” had no idea he was filming for a horror movie. From Cracked:

Lloyd just thought they were making a movie about a family in a hotel. He wasn’t even really sure how much he was getting paid to be there. He was only ever shown severely edited footage that took out all the scary parts, which essentially means he thought he was filming the most boring snoozefest ever created, because without the iconic scenes of terror, The Shining is a movie about three people wandering around in cavernous, brooding silence.
Lloyd didn’t see the actual uncut movie until many years later as a teenager, and suddenly everything clicked into place — those two nice British girls with whom he used to play and share lunch in between takes? They were ax-murdered ghosts who wanted his soul. That nice Jack Nicholson man who did a funny tomahawk dance when Lloyd accidentally wandered on set one day? Jack was slobberingly hacking his way through a bathroom door to murder Lloyd’s onscreen mother only moments prior.

That must have been the biggest mindfuck of his life.

Clever way to put a kid in a scary movie and still keep his innocence if you ask me. Now he’s got bragging rights for being in a classic.
